take off your shoes

Hospitality is something that comes easily in my home. I must admit, it's something I'm good at.

This fact still sounds strange coming from my mouth. I grew up in a home that rarely hosted people, and when we did [even though everything turned out lovely] it was a stressful ordeal. Pair that with the fact that I am very introverted, and you have a recipe for a hermit family.

Some days my reclusive tendencies shine brightest, but most days I love to open my doors wide to chatter and community. You can usually find a hot beverage brewing, and we're rarely without music and wild laughter.

That's what I want this space to foster.

I want this to be a place where you feel free to chime in with your opinion because you're not afraid of being shot down. Where you can let your walls crumble and come as you are -- because not one of us is perfect.

I don't know about where you're from, but here: we take off our shoes inside. So come on in. Feel free to put those bare feet up on the furniture.
